Kearney's 3 man bench

He's done it on numerous occassions he did it again last night.......Justin Poore named at 17 & no game time. Can someone explain to me the benefit of this tactic cos I'm obviously missing something here. Interesting no one picked up on it (including commentators). I honestly thought he'd play him in the last 10 - 15 minutes providing a fresh prop for some really needed go forward..esp when the game was still up for grabs. I'm baffled.

  • poore was sick......apparently
  • Poore had a middle ear infection which affected his balance. He was a last minute withdrawal.
    • yet supercoach opted to play him over the 18th man.........and keep him on the bench for the next 80 mins

either kearney has nfi.............or there are some silly buggers going on

  • So I'm assuming he got sick or sustained a calf injury (or both) at the eleventh hour & it was too late to change the side otherwise if he was sick or injured prior to the eleventh hour then I would have to question why you wouldn't opt to drop him for someone else.
  • Thanks PA. We obviously posted at the same time.
  • That's my point Coco Nuts just sounds a bit too suss for mine
  • Poore would of not helped anyway,Allgood has way more pump.
  • From what I understand there was enough doubt on Poore before the game for O'Brien to be considered being added to the bench as the replacement. As much as a fan I am of SK, that was a poor error of judgement effectively meaning we only had 16 fit players starting the game - CRAZY!!!!
  • Point is you've disadvantaged your team by playing that one man less. There was atime during the game in the 2nd half (during Manly's comeback) where one of the commentators made reference to eels looking like they were out of petrol. Mannah plays 52mins, Fui 55mins, Shacks 22 & Allgood 31. Even with one short O'hanlon gets a measly 15mins. He's (SK) playing 2 second rowers in the backline in smith & horo who are clearly not 80 min players. A half in mcguire who cannot go the 80. and a second rower in Hindy who I'm sorry offers nothing in attack playing for 80mins. Throw in a handful of non nrl 1st graders in Hicks, morgan & o'hanlon & you have e recipe for disaster. SK needs to tweek his recipe I think.
  • Poore withdrew after they were allowed to replace him. I don't think you can really blame anyone for that.
