Eels manager charged over salary scandal

Former Parramatta Eels football manager Jason Irvine has been charged over the salary cap scandal at the NRL club.

NSW Police arrested the 42-year-old in Leichhardt on Monday and charged him with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, dishonestly obtaining property by deception, and acting with intent to pervert the course of justice.

Irvine appeared at Newtown Local Court on Monday and was granted bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.

The salary cap scandal reportedly involved merchandise sales and inflated invoices being used to honour under-the-table payments to the NRL club's players.

  • Awesome, this blokes a grub.

    • Waiting for Seward to be arrested as well.
    • I particularly like how only a few staff actually have surnames. Is it because BlackCitrus don't actually know the people they employ in India as programmers, or could they just not spell their surnames?
    • Can somebody do a reverse image search on those photos and make sure they are real people?
  • Hopefully he squeals and implicates more.

    Irvine, Seward, TG ......

  • Sing little birdy sing.
  • This bloke was right in the middle of all our leaks and drama, does anybody have the facts on Irvines and Moss relationship?

Is he or was he employed by Bill Moss?

Irvine needs to be seriously investigated, links to Moss the white knight, worked with Nolan and a dodgy board, hope the cops get plenty out of him

    • It's reported everywhere he works for moss and here too Snake and here it says they are joint directors of a company too haha also can't see how they nab Irvine without Seward the scoundrels the lot of them!!!

"....iDrayton also told investigators that after Eels football manager Jason Irvine was sacked, he had to deal directly with Moss. As well as being shocked about the terms of the contract, Drayton said he was even more surprised when Moss told him part of the contract was "paying for Anthony Watmough's TPA".

"In June last year the Parramatta board became aware that Seward and his friend Irvine had been deliberately cheating the salary cap by channelling payments to players by inflating invoices from suppliers and contractors.

Seward was forced to resign on June 11, 2015 and 10 days later Irvine was retrenched. Irvine now works as business development director at BlackCitrus. In addition, Irvine and Bill Moss are directors of a private company, Boston Leisure and Tourism."

      • Thanks Mace, i knew he did, just didnt want to give the incorrect facts.

Its so easy to join the dots here.

        • Pretty much where the main shit started, that damned watmough deal?

Anyway, they say revenge is a dish best served cold, so I hope for a few who have bore the brunt of this onslaught the cops do a really thorough job following the trail to the ones who think they are sailing off into the sunset. Mongrels!
Ps I knew you knew :))
