Interesting read...Kaysa may be in front

EELS GUN PUSHINGKaysa Pritchard is on the verge of unseating Isaac DeGois for the Eels’ first round clash with Manly on Sunday March 5.Pritchard is seriously pushing for the hooking role which would see him play alongside big brother Frank for the first time in the NRL.Private Ryan understands the Eels won’t carry a second hooker on the bench for their match against the Sea Eagles with Nathan Brown, Kenny Edwards, Daniel Alvaro and Frank Pritchard their likely reserves.New recruit Suaia Matagi is set to start in the front row alongside Tim Mannah with Manu Ma’u and Tepai Moeroa the back-rowers.With Bevan French in the No. 1, Brad Takairangi will play at centre and Josh Hoffman on the wing

  • My bad on the initial spelling. New phone lol
  • Only reason I could see Kaysa coming in would be because De Gois is carrying some sort of niggling injury.

  • Not suprise to see this. With kaysa's brother with him he will play better. Time will tell if he can play a full 80 high tempo game. I hope so and no injuries. I reckon one of the main reason we got frank was to play along side his lil bro in the NRL before he retires
  • Funny how this directly contradicts a previous Fox Sports article that says De Gois is the front-runner.

    • Wasn't King the front runner and all sown up for the spot?  Oh! that was the DT, who are not remotely connected to Fox

  • From the trials... Do you think he is a better player from last yr or can't really tell yet. I missed the trials and I know they might not mean much but with 3 of them playing for Hooker they would have been pushing their hardest to impress?
    • Kaysa has just been fit for a long time now. Injuries really held him back.
I thought his service and defence was very good, but petered off the longer he played.

  • Does Vave instantly replace Alvaro when he returns?
    • Alvaro will keep his spot i think
  • Hmmm... thanks Hamish. Always love your input
