Ian Schubert, He's not the Messiah?

At the end of 2013 Ian Schubert stood down from his role as Chief Salary Cap Auditor for the NRL. After 18 consecutive years reviewing each and every team for compliance under the conditions of the Salary Cap for each years comp you would think he knows more than anyone else about the subject. Parra discover that the Club is in a spot of bother re; the Cap. They call in the acknowledged expert. He finds us compliant and has stated that he considers we still are for 2016. The NRL Integrity Unit's Salary Cap Auditor, Jamie L'Oste Brown disagrees. You would consider that Ian Schubert's reviews at Parra were carried out with the same processes and diligence he applied to all the investigations he carried out when employed by the NRL. Logically, if the NRL think he's wrong with Parra's current investigation, does that not call into question the validity of every single Salary Cap report he has produced?By the way, for the last 7 years of his tenure as Salary Cap Auditor for the NRL he had an assistant. The name of that assistant, Jamie L'Oste Brown.

  • I think that means that the JLOB has had firm instructions to show no leaniency
    • Even if that means covering up the possibility that it was miscalculated? We unfortunately have only been told that Schuberts attempt at arguing the amount was far less than the 570k stated. Not why he was wrong or evidence to show the contrary. The whole situation is just screaming suss in my books.

  • Which is why an independent panel must be brought in to investigate and evidence to support the NRL's and Eels claims. This together with the Seward/Greenberg history seems to paint a picture that also needs further investigation.
  • Schubert seems pretty confident about getting this all solved. What about how he walked out of that office the other day all happy and cheered up.

    • Hmmm, which confuses me. Considering why would he be so overly happy if he's about to kick the likes of Peats out?

  • This whole story with all the incest like connections, Seaward/Greenburg, L'Oste Brown/Schubert, as well as the prior form of our club, the form of the club Greenburg and Seaward originated, with the best imagination in the world, you couldn't write this stuff.

    • Phil, thankfully they can only interfere with each other & not breed. Anyway, here's a little something for the fans of conspiracy theories. After retiring as a player, Ian Schubert coached reserve grade at, wait for it, Canterbury-Bankstown. Enjoy.
  • it should be turned into a movie. greenturd can play forest Gump. the gang of five can be played by a mixture of the 3 amigos and those two fukcwits from dumb and dumber. it can be called The Green(turd) Mile....
    • LOL

    • Now I know who Turd reminds me of. An actor in a B-grade WW2 movie. He's playing the role of a Gestapo Officer. You vill talk, zey all talk in zee end.

His dialogue at the War Trial scene; ve vere just followink orders. Zis voz standard procedure. Often ve would follow standard procedure twice. Zis is called double standards.
