I'm a bad widdle Eels fan

I'm a bad fan. Perhaps it's because I started supporting the eels in 1981 when I was 8 years old living in Qld before there was a queensland team and I stayed loyal throughout all these dry years, watching every televised game up even now living in Los Angeles. Perhaps it's because I've only visited Parramatta once in my life (it's not nice.) But to me your team is your team. What, you think I haven't tried dumping these bozos a dozen times over the years? I even used to hit the piss with Locky, Thaiday and Pete Marshall back in the Broncs days in Brisbane my home town and I STILL didn't turn. Theh I lived in Melbourne and used to run into the Storm rats and piss on with them too (not bad blokes.) My confession is that I FEEL A SENSE OF SATISFACTION WHEN THEY GET OBLITERATED. Why? It's complicated. I think because I want them to feel my pain. And I don't think a 2, 10, even 20 point loss can do that. Only when they are SHAMED can they maybe feel it - although I still saw smiles after the game when they shook hands with the victors. I want the poison out. I won't even go into who I think should go. Okay, Harvey Norman I'd like to see split. And Mannah's head I could not see again. Yes, I'm a bad fan. Or not a real fan according top some perhaps. But I don't give a rats at this point. DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!

  • L.A boy saying Parramatta isn't nice? Careful with that on this blog.
    • It always amuses me when people who don't even visit Parramatta reckon it's a bad place.
    • Maybe he got dropped off in the middle of Lurgan Street Constitution Hill.
  • You know what I hate about following the eels. I hate when you tell people, particularly those that don't even follow a team, that you follow the eels they reply, "oh sorry to hear that." Their response is not only after a loss either, no, this response generally even occurs in a decent season. It's as if people just associate our team with shit. Maybe after the weekends loss it's understandable.
  • Been following them for 40 years . Seen all there victories and grand final losses . Love them.

But we are certainly ridiculed and losses like this just add to it. I received no less than 10 text messages from mates after that loss with various gifs and jokes giving it to the eels.

I know from talking to some players that they don’t fear playing us and some look forward to it because we are ‘ soft ‘ and break easily.

Hurts as a supporter . But as you just said it makes me angry to see silly Corey Norman grinning and laughing at fulltime as he shakes hands with manly players.

When are these guys going to realise they live privileged lives and earn lots of money for doing a job they love unlike the vast majority of the working community.

Grow up . Look at the emblem on your jersey , look at ray price and mick Cronin photo on wall and see if your still smiling Corey .
    • Ray Price would have wiped that smile off his face quick smart.

    • Deadset just drop Norman. He’s a bit of a myth as a player anyway. Gets a good wrap with commentators and other fans because they see him do the odd flashy thing. When has he ever orchestrated a thumping like Manly put on us yesterday?
  • Corey needs a fuckin smack ... I am

sick to death of seeing frivolity after these losses !!! Someone mentioned on parra fb that bevan was laughing after being towelled continuously over the sidelines !!! Wtf ?? Who does that ???

maybe they need some choice words from people like : Cronin, price , edge ,kenny or sterlo about how to be WORTHY of the jumper and pay it respect ?? How to behave after a loss ??

sad that they would need this but the care factor in some for failure is obviously zero :-(((

    • Right so CarloEEL2.

I remember 2 years ago Knights player crying after being flogged by a simular scoreline. I expected out players to drop to their knees and back after the siren went with Manly players giving them some consolation but it wasnt the case.

I think the only player that REALLY hurt was Mannah and you could see it at the presser with him struggling to answer the reporters questions with Manly belting out their victory song in the background. I think he was close to tears.

      • Yes mannah was struggling , maybe a good thing and will get him to fire up st them more as well
