Extremely Naughty

To all those who claimed I was overreacting to a loss of the first game of the season--wait to round ten, see what happens in round 26 etc etc. What have you got to say today when the chief news sport` item is "Arthur Gives Eels a Spray"! ? After the first game of the year!  Extremely naughty. Arthur, goes bananas warning that changes will be made etc etc, Why did he not wait for rounds ten , twenty or twenty  six? What was he doing? I will tell you what he was doing. He was doing his f...... job. That what he was doing--excuse the French. Doing his job, and more power to him for that. Don`t get me wrong, I don1t think much of any coach--Bellamy perhaps excluded. I think they all, coaches that is, get money for jam. But when our coach does his job he will get my support even if nobody else does. My inclination is always to support the players. They are the ones who do the work, take the knocks, suffer metal problem after footy and are not always appreciated in playing in the hardest football in the world, but comes a time when there is a need to inform them of the facts of life. My expectation is that they will take it on board and lift their performance as a result.

  • Who claimed you were over reacting Robert! I think a lot of Eels fans were reacting to the loss against the Panthers and rightly so. It was a disgraceful performance from the Eels.

  • Robert, don't be stupid all your life.

BA didn't overreact like you and many others did, he did what every coach does after every game, win, lose or draw, he analysed the previous game play by play and pointed out to the players both individually & collectively where they went wrong, then he drew a line under it and turned his attention to Manly.

The article didn't say he flew off the handle, even Corey Norman said it was a 7/10 on the BA-richter scale, so clearly he has a few more gears to go up to if wants to.

The point that was made was that the sky hasn't fallen in because we lost the first game of the year. There is no need to make mass changes because we lost the game, the 17 that played Penrith were presumably the best available 17 in BA's mind. Given that he has named an unchanged team he still believes that to be the case. Those players haven't lost their ability overnight.

  • I and others responded to people who were calling for changes to the side and questioning worth of some players in side.
I also responded to people who questioned if we would be able to make top 8 and started questioning BA coaching ability.
The reason being was their responses were over reaction to a 1st round loss. Ia\\f that is how you respondd to 1st loss I stand by my option you over reacted. There were issues that no one denied however the panic around the issues was definitely over reacting.
I don't think you would find anyone said the performance was good enough and team didn't need a spray.
  • Robs a wanker.
  • The players did need a spray. There second half effort was crap. That's all it was though. People need to calm down and stop over reacting around here.
