Ben Smith is fit to play and has held his place in the starting 13, Jeff Robson has kept the number seven jersey and Krisnan Inu is the unlucky member to miss out on the 17, but has been named on an extended bench.

Coach Daniel Anderson has stuck primarily with the players that took the side to the grand final with the exception of including his two big buys Timana Tahu and Justin Poore in the starting side. Tahu pushes Inu onto an extended interchange bench while Poore's inclusion will see Fuifui Moimoi come off the bench.

The other new buy Shane Shackleton has also made it onto the bench as has Kris Keating.

Daniel Anderson said in the Eels media statement: "“It was a difficult decision to finalise this team but I’m comfortable with what has been selected."

“I’m looking forward to seeing Justin Poore and Shane Shackleton make their debut in the blue and gold and they will be excellent additions to the team and club.”

Daneel...Robson may not win you matches but he certainly saves some when big men run at him 1 on 1 and he stops them in their tracks. With 2 small men in the halves ie: Morts and KK, I believe their is the potential there to be a considerable defensive hole. KK may win some matches for you but may also do the opposite. Lets not forget Robson was involved in every match of Parra's march last year, has finals and GF experience. A few fast, darting breaks doesn't convince me at all...KK will be great off the bench when their forwards are tired IMO.

Are we still debating this ? Looks like this topic could go on well after both players finish their playing contracts for the Eels and move on. And even then some.

Time will tell and judge all opinions. I have been harsh of Robbo in the past but hey we are all parra-fanatics so all is good.

Come on eels, I want to blow the dragons off the turf in Parra Stadium and all the way back to Kogarah.
