Move over Manly - you’re not the only ones blueing with each other.

Parramatta stars have revealed how Thursday’s opposed session got physical as players turned on each other and blood was spilled on the training paddock.

But unlike the messy situation at the Sea Eagles, Eels coaching staff were happy to sit back and let the likes of Jarryd Hayne, Daniel Alvaro and Tim Mannah rip and tear ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manly.

Skipper Mannah was left bleeding from one altercation, but there were no complaints.

It was exactly the passion coach Brad Arthur has been seeking from his players throughout their 0-6 start to the season.

He let the session go on an extra 10 minutes as the aggression meter was turned up.

“There were a few blow-ups. A few boys got pumped, I got pumped,” prop Kane Evans confirmed.

“It was a normal session and someone hit someone and they dropped the ball and the other team was yahooing and it was on.

“To see everyone firing up and flying out of the line and hitting each other was pretty good.

“You wouldn’t think you’d train that intense three days from a game, but it was a good way to let the frustration out.

“If we play the way we trained we’ll be on fire (Sunday).”

Arthur called his players in after the session and congratulated them on their intensity and passion, saying that’s what he’s been searching for all season.

Fullback Clint Gutherson said: “There was almost a blue in the contact (session). We’re putting our hearts on our sleeves and going out there to win.

“We are a passionate team. We will do anything to try and win.

“It’s not working (over the first six rounds) so we’ve got to find something.”

Utility Will Smith added: “There was a bit of passion in the opposed session and we need that.

“It’s time to start to get some aggression back in our game. It was good to see.

“We need it more now than ever.”

Parramatta host Manly at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, five weeks after the Sea Eagles handed them a humiliating 54-0 thrashing at Brookvale Oval.

The Eels still believe they can reach the top eight despite going winless over the opening six weeks of the competition

  • Its groundhog day, best talkers in the history of the game we are.

If we cant beat an out of form manly this week we might as well hang up the boots for the year.

Tipping us to win this week, manly are ripe for the picking.

    • Okay some intent finally appearing. Great, but keep the talk muted...no sense in alerting our next opposition.

Then show us the tide has turned Sunday.

    • You tipped us to beat Manly again!  Yep, we’re fooked!

      • LOL, yes ive tried to be loyal and pick us most games this year, im doing it again this week, maybe i should try tipping us to lose ha

  • Hopefully Mannah was bashed by the whole team and thrown into a wood chipper, can anybody confirm where he was bleeding from?

    • His anus, Snake

    • Well according to Evans, him and a few of the boys "got pumped".. So take a guess.

  • Anybody know if the TCT was involved in any of the bleeding at training?

Hope none of them has lost it and gone on a rampage down there.

    • Snake if blood was spilled at training the gang from TCT would have run off in terror as there's no way they could handle watching their beloved players getting hurt.

      • 60's would of run on the field and kissed Mannah's boo boo's all better.
