NRL, AFL and FFA combine with government for Donate Life Week.
This is probably one of the best kept secrets to date.
After the efforts of Eels and Dogs supporters to attempt to achieve an Organ Donor Awareness round with representations to the Eels, Dogs and the NRL - with absolutely almost no success at all - and having combined our efforts with Nathan Gremmo Jersey Day - THE best known avenue for Donor Awareness we have this "initiative(?)" from the government that is practically had NO publicity at all.
Jersey Day is NOT mentioned as it should be but here we are with this.
I must mention the terrific efforts made by people at the Eels to try and get this happening and applaud the attempts they made on our behalf.
I am painfully aware of a lot of the behind the scenes activities that have gone on with this but am unable to elaborate any further - at this time.
Make your own decision as to why the various sporting bodies have accepted taxpayer money then NOT done anything of significance to truly promote this cause.

Good to see Hindy as the ambassador but where are all the appropriate headlines and promotion of Jersey Day as should have happened.
Get politicians involved in anything and you are pretty well assured it will turn Pear shaped very quickly imo.

A good heads up, Col. I know I had no idea.
I'd participate, but I'm making damn sure that my organs are expired totally before my life ceases.
I am so grateful to those who have made the difficult choice to donate their organs.
Onya 66.
My missus and me are heavily involved with Kidney Support Network Qld and had no idea this was happening or that it is supposed to be Donate Life week.
Really don't know why they don't leave these things to people who know what they are doing tbh.
Haha.
Damn straight!
I think they try to do just enough so that they can't be criticised for doing nothing, but not enough to actually put in effort... It's something, which is better than nothing... but still, it's not much if no one knows about it...
G’day everybody.
We would like to let you know about Jersey Day.
Jersey Day has been inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo who was tragically lost in an accident in 2015. Nathan’s family chose to give the gift of life to others to honour the legacy of Nathan’s generous personality.
On Friday September 1, 2017 we are asking schools and workplaces across Australia to allow students and employees to wear their favourite sporting jersey to school or work to show their support of the DonateLife network and begin the conversation with their friends and families about Organ Donation.
This campaign is all about awareness - there is no requirement to raise funds. Our intention is to fill social media with positive images and stories that show support for this cause. If you don’t have a sporting jersey or singlet it is all good - simply wear a colourful shirt to show your support. Jersey Day is merely a fulcrum to begin the conversation with your friends and family about the DonateLife message.
We are often asked – ‘What can we do to help out?’
The answer is simple – Visit our Facebook and Instagram pages and share them amongst your friends, family and work colleagues. The more businesses and families that become aware of this message, the better.
You can also visit jerseyday.com.au for more information about Jersey Day, to download a Jersey Day Poster and to learn more about how you can help to save a life.
Regards,
RICHARD GREMMO
