Dear Larissa

In a similar vein to our member council blog, I wonder if a "Dear Larissa" blog would be beneficial for Larissa on this site. As it stands, Larissa pops in and responds when she notices any content that is member related and no doubt, even with such a dedicated blog she would still check out the chat. I'm just thinking that this might be easier for her to monitor. Of course, this would only work if we respected its purpose. It wouldn't be an agony aunt column, eg "Dear Larissa, I want to ask this girl at work to share a coffee with me but she doesn't know I exist. What should I do?"So Larissa, what are your thoughts? Would you need to create the blog yourself for ease of monitoring? Thoughts from others?

  • Quality idea, Sixties.

  • Thanks. I'd like to think that our site is establishing its voice. As it stands I've met people at training who have come up to me and asked if I am sixtiesboy. When I've asked who they were they've said that they weren't members they just read the site. Or they said that they were members but rarely blogged. So as a site we are noticed. Larissa has become our contact within the Eels organisation. Some of the questions that she could address in such a blog may well answer the questions of not just our membership, but our entire readership. Of course having such a channel of communication may encourage people to join and participate.
  • Totally stole my joke there Sixties.
    • Sorry mate. It's the predictive capabilities of this device. Even predicts potential jokes, puns, double entendres etc.
  • Great idea. It may become a very large blog.

  • I'm actually hoping that it helps Larissa too. It would give membership the chance to perhaps address a question that may affect numerous people with the one response. Whilst I'm aware that membership welcomes our calls, emails etc, I'm sure that anything that assists them time management wise would also assist us. Maybe Lariss's response might have to be to email or call membership with specifics. I guess we'll see what she thinks.
  • Didn't she start a blog along those lines, if you use her blog it will show up in her feed on her home page.

    • She has started blogs. They have been used as announcement blogs. I was just suggesting having a dedicated question blog. It will be her call. Just a suggestion Waterboy.
  • Maybe we could start a separate section for membership enquiries, just like we have a "league" section, "current affairs" etc.

People who are new to the site may not know who Larissa is, and separating each enquiry may make it easier for Larissa/the club to make sure each issue has been addressed.
  • My mate dills meet you down training . Last Monday . When teapi was running good lines. He said were a pleasure to talk too . And looks forward to have a chat the next time he at training.
