David Warner press conference

What did everyone think? A lot of side stepping questions. 2 things that stood out to me were:- Avoiding answering whether any one apart from the suspended 3 were involved.- Avoiding answering whether he had ever been involved in anything like this before. He answered that question by saying he's here to accept responsibility for what happened on day 3 in the third test.

  • Couldnt care to watch. Hope never to see him play for Oz again.

What I have to say about him though he's a foul mouthed, vicious little c*nt who suffers from Napoleon syndrome.

He's basically the only Australian cricketer I've ever hated.

Good batsman but poor sportsman with absolutely zero decorum.

PS Don't know if some rumours are true that he was a bully to younger team mates.

PSS Steve Smith was a terrible captain (I've said all along his tenure) but he's a good kid and it's a shame he couldnt stand up to Warner and put him in his place. The sh*t Warner pulled wouldn't wear with Border, Taylor, Waugh and Ponting.

    • Could you imagine the response from Border if Warner pulled this $hit with him, captain cranky would have sat him down and put him on the next plane home.

Smith is a nice kid, great record, but he isn’t a leader of men like Taylor,  Waugh and Border.

    • It was a media circus with Candace crying in the crowd to try and Gage sympathy

    • Apparently all you could hear was his slapper missus sobbing throughout the whole thing Mack, these two are a match made in heaven.

  • What a grub, hope he is never considered for Aus again.

His team mates have had enough of him anyway.

  • Plausible deniability

Everyone caught ball tampering before has had it.

This was just dumb. They get banned for a year for being dumb - not for ball tampering

  • Crocodile tears from the uber-bogan. Couldn't care less about the gnome or the sport itself. I've gone from a cricket tragic to zero interest largely on the back of clowns like him and then Clarke before him. The AU cricket team has become a more unlikable bunch of people void of personalities over the years.

Candy seemed more upset than him... guess she can see some of life's luxuries having to scale back. Maybe they head to the Clovelly to drown their sorrows... the kids might even be able to catch up with Uncle Sonny.

    • Will, I would think that if you call someone a bogon, then do it in the front of a mirror to get the proper perspective.

  • Gee, we love putting down tall poppies.  Had he answered that question in the affirmative he would have hounded to reveal who it might have been, straight off the rage of being a dobber and not taking full responsibility as he did.

He was in a totally no wind situation in this, and the big thing is the Indian, Pom and other South African players who all screamed out foul as they hold their heads high are a joke, how many players from those teams have been caught in the past as well?  The element is that some of those wonderful players who take the high moral ground were caught themselves, and De Placard or how you spell his name was also caught out before, what of the black bowler who purposely bumped Smith on the way off, gets banned appealed and basically gets off.

What of the SA captain who instigated the tunnel confrontation with comments about Warners wife and children?  NOTHING happened and I can well believe that may have been behind his decision to do this, but he held back from submitting an official complaint.

Racism and the like is labelled against the Australian team if the complain, but not for other teams, who remembers Symonds from QLD who caused a furore doing an Indian test match here, when he objected about the comments made by and Indian bowler and did a monkey Impersonation at Symonds, and one wonders about the genteel nature of the others, how many players from other countries have been guilty of this and how many have gotten away with it.

I do not condone what has the Oz 3 did, but in many ways Warner would have been simmering for a while owing to the way things went in that test match and earlier ones.  As for the SA team and the tunnel confrontation, how many here watched and heard the cat calling and name calling against his family during the test?  Nothing really was said about that. was there?

    • That is fine Mick but cricket Australia should have dealt with this differently. They overreacted straight away in an attempt to look good in the eyes of world cricket the media and their sponsors.

In doing so they threw 3 players under the bus, over hyped the situation and lost they'd major sponsers anyway.

These players are going to pay a price way beyond the magnitude of the crime. Smith and Warner will lose millions.

If I was either of those three cricketers I would be mounting a legal challenge
