Dargan and Stone named in NSW U20 Origin side

The Parramatta Eels would like to congratulate Blue & Gold Troy Dargan and Ray Stone who have today been selected in the 2017 NSW Under-20 side for the Origin I curtain-raiser on Wednesday 31 May at Suncorp Stadium.

The side features several former NSW Under-18 and NSW Under-16 representatives, in addition to some players still eligible for the under-20s division after playing in the same side last year.

Players will be looking to continue the state's dominance in the fixture; NSW has won all five of the Under-20s Origin games played to date, including the 36-22 victory witnessed in 2016.

Coached by NSW True Blue Danny Buderus, the side will kick its game off against Queensland at 5:15pm, with the match to be live streamed in full on NSWRL.com.au.

  • As someone who pays very little attention outside of the NRL team I've wondered how dargan is going. I'm guessing this means he has been playing well.
  • Stone is a goer. Congrats.
  • I'm a big fan of Stone , he's the best under 20's player we've got. He'll make a top shelf first grade backrower down the track.
  • Good to see we have some promising players coming through. The trick is bringing in Dargan at the right time. Can he play outside the halves?
    • Dargan is purely a left side half.
  • I noticed the other day a Cronin playing with Brisbane? Didn't he used to be with us and is he related to Mick aaand is he any good?
    • Jesse Cronin is still with the club. Just finished his last year of SG ball.
  • Penrith Leading the under 20's get 1 guy in the team?

  • Really hope dargin gets a go sooner or later before someone else snaps him up, stone will be good first grader once he fills out more puts few more kg on
  • We also have a kid called David Hollis in the 16s NSW side, he is from Wauchope where I am from, home of Rocky and Mark Laurie and Ian Schubert. Good kid.maybe one to watch for in a few years if he doesn't get homesick, real country boy.
