  • uhh wheres brown?
    • number 2 pack

      With Paulo in it

    • And Alvaro, Kenny. You can't pick and choose! BA never wanted to get rid of Peats but the previous administration stuffed up the contract.
      • Longfin Eel : Where is your evidence for that? When interviewed by Peter Sterling, on Stereo, last year or the year before Arthur admitted that it was a mistake "to get rid of Peats"---your words not mine. Why would he say it was a mistake if he did not want  to get rid of him? And how did the previous administration stuff up the contract? Peats had been at the Eels for some time at that stage. Max Donnerly and Arthur offered Peats a contract when Peats contact at the Titians expired. Peats rejected the Eels offer and resigned with the Titians. Peats has an ongoing problem with the current Eels retention people Donnerly and Arthur.

    • If you were in Pack 1 Arnie we’d have a chance.
    • 100% ba admitted he personally made a mistake with the peats situation longfin.
      • He admitted it was a mistake, but that doesn’t mean he wanted to get rid of him. Even at the time he said it was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do, especially in light of how he put his body on the line for the club. But the fact remains that we had to shed at least one large contract to get under the cap and compete for points.

      •  Chief : Thanks for the back up confirmation re the truth of the Peats  situation. They keep nibbling away at it as time goes by.

  • BA did not let Paulo go- he just refused to pay  $750k per year

I also don’t think he let Matterson go- he just wanted him to play in the forwards not backs

    • Nobody knows the exact dollars parramatta offered or what he signed at Canberra for. Its impossible to know that information.

The fact is, if a club can recognize a players potential early enough, they will almost certainly sign him for less and ward off any challengers . We held off on Paulo for too long and paid the consequences.

Now, the rumors are that ba wants him back, and trust me, Paulo won't be signing here for 500k per season

I totally agree with your comments regarding the importance and benefits regarding local juniors at discounted rates, however,  this is only a factor with their 1st contract if they show promise.  Once a player starts showing they have regular…"

"We definitely need Lomax more than we need Grieg. Plus I back BA to develop gun forwards if we need to. We already have amazing forwards coming through our Matt, SG and Flegg team."
