Corey Norman not leaving

I think the signs of him playing at 7 speak volumes. Corey Norman is not leaving the Eels, nor should anyone here want him to leave. His talent is through the roof, and with most talented people - you need to work around them. Put Norman as Co-Captain alongside Gutho next year, keep him at 7 and help lead Moses into the next level. After the year the teams had, I believe we'll come out firing next season in our new stadium.

We DO NOT need another 5 year plan - just need to use our squad accurately. I think it would benefit Gutho to play in the centres for a while, and put Bevan back into FB - where I truly believe he'll shine. Like Gasnier said, I think Hayne will be his most dangerous for us in the wing. He doesn't mind where he plays and if an injury occurs, he's got the versatility to jump into multiple positions for us. Everyone knocking him should remember that absolutely NO ONE in our team has stood out this year.

Yes we've been a mess this year, but I've always thought (like many) we're just severely weak around the forward pack.
8. Alvaro
9. King
10. Vave
11. Niukore
12. Taka
13. Brown

This is very troublesome. Chuck in Paulo, Taupau, Tepai, and Mahoney (suspended) we look much more stacked. Who knows? There's a lot of talk about Austin being linked to us, however, I don't believe we'd be putting him in the halves. Probably at 9. Then again, aybe we'll chase Isaac Luke, which I think is critical in establishing the future of our weakened 9 jersey.

1. Bevan French

2. Jarryd Hayne

3. Michael Jennings

4. Clint Gutherson

5. George Jennings

6. Mitchell Moses

7. Corey Norman

8. Tim Mannah

9. Blake Austin/Reed Mahoney (maybe Isaac Luke)

10. Junior Paulo

11. Tepai Moeroa

12. Martin Taupau

13. Nathan Brown

- With quite a number of off-contract players this year, we've also got some juniors that we can most certainly blood. Hearing good things about certain players, so our interchange shouldn't be an issue.

  • I just you are right about getting taupau

  • We can't lose with 2 Jarryd Hayne's
    • Oh yeah 2009 Hayne at 1 and 2014 Hayne at 6

  • Haha @billybob.. Fixed that up. Whether we stick with George or go with someone else.

I think the reason we didn't make a play for Woods was because we wanted Taupau

  • It could be worth a shot putting Hayne on the wing, at least when we are coming out of our own 20m on a kick return. I still think we are missing an x-factor, even with that 2019 team you have put up.

  • Your kidding arent you Alex, Norman being played at 7 is nothing more than coincidence. They had no1 else to play.

Norman shows no passion at all for the club. Believe me, he will be at another club next season and maybe even as early as this week if the club gets its ducks in a row in time

    • CO CAPTAIN ?? Are you insane ??

i wouldn’t let that doofus Captain my nanas bowls team- ( and she’s dead)

      omg !!!!!!

      • hello g.t.s. how are you

  • Good to see a positive thought out post. Its true that slight changes and players returning from injury can completely change teams i.e. souths. Some may say they also changed coaches and I concede that but they have definitely been helped by players returning in key positions i.e. Inglis.
  • French should be no where near the no. 1 Jersey. Honestly if he leaves to join another team we have lost nothing.

He is at best a winger or a no 14.
