Out of all the halfbacks in the NRL, where do you rank  Chris Sandow?  Personally I would rank him at 14, I would have any other halfback in the NRL over Sandow only exceptions are Robson (I had to think hard about that one) and Mitch Cornish who I have not seen enough of yet..... We can not win a comp with Sandow as our 7 and playmaker. He's too much of an individual player who is prone to brain snaps and selfish plays which far out weigh all the brilliance he is capable of (40/20 King).

To be successful with Sandow in the team we need a dominant 5/8 who can run the team like Lockyer or Thurston when he was at 6..... Aiden Sezer, James Maloney or Jamie Soward would be the perfect halves partners for Sandow I reckon,

  • Last.

    16th.

    • Totally agree Grunta.

Still last and 16th place on April 11th, 2015.  Sandow seems to like to point the finger to the next guy, like saying "Ive got nadda, give the ball to that guy".

    • As we have seen with DCE, Foran and Thurston (first 2 games) so far this season, when their respective forwards don't dominate like what is happening with our pack, then the halves struggle to shine.  This is very evident with DCE and Foran as their pack is being dominated every game.  Foran will not be much help for us next season unless our forward pack dominate on a regular basis.

I don't think it is fair to criticise our halves when the problem is our forward pack aren't winning the battle up front.

I highlighted in a blog in the off season that we have a Small Pack and was criticised black and blue for a variety of reasons.  When we take Junior Paulo, Pauli and to a lesser extent Edwards out of our top 17 we lose that size, impact and intimidation in attack and the weekly grind playing with a smaller pack in my opinion is showing.  Playing without Junior Paulo is a massive, massive loss in attack.  Yes, we can win the odd game against bigger packs but the weekly grind by playing a smaller pack will be highlighted over the 26 rounds.

I also highlighted in the off season that losing Hayne would have significant effect on our attack and clean up defence.  Hayne's ability to make a tackle bust from anywhere on the field (particularly out of our half of the field) and either score a try or put us in a position to score was second to none.  Most people heavily criticised me for also saying that we will struggle to score tries without Hayne but it is starting to show.

In my opinion I don't think we will see much of an improvement in our results until we get Junior Paulo back in the starting team, Radradra and Pauli Pauli in the top 17.

  • Yep Robson, Mortimer, Marshal, Lui etc are all far superior to Sandow..
    • DUMB

  • The only perfect partner for Chris is his shadow.

No one else know's what the hell he is going to do because he doesn't know himself.

Like the average Mills & Boon, he's slightly difficult to read.

    Too difficult.

  • Who are the right halves in the game? I'd say as a right half Sandow would be 8th, but again I'm not 100% sure of the other 15 right halves, the only ones I'm 100% sure of are: Mitchell Pearce, DCE, Adam Reynolds, Cooper Cronk, Josh Reynolds, Ben Hunt, Shaun Johnson, Benji Marshall, Robert Lui.

  • Fuck some of you guys have no idea sandow ranked 14 is rubbish
    • agreed

  • I'd say where Parra finished on the table in comparison to the other teams is the same as where Sandow is compared to the other halfbacks.
