WILL Chambers will spend three weeks on the sideline for an ugly crusher tackle on Friday night, but the Melbourne centre can count himself lucky that’s all he got.
Chambers was charged with a dangerous tackle for an incident involving Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne just before half time in their Round 23 clash. The Storm veteran held Hayne up in a tackle, appeared to turn his opponent before landing awkwardly on the back of Hayne’s neck and head.
The incident has been widely slammed by NRL commentators since.
But foxsports.com.au has unearthed vision that shows why Chambers is lucky to escape with only a three-week suspension.
Earlier in the game he produced an almost identical tackle on Eels forward Nathan Brown. Brown was able to get up and play the ball and the act went unpunished, both by the referee at the time and by the match review committee.

The NRL need to grow some balls & get serious about punishing players that intentionally try to injure other players with cheap shot. Do we need to have another player put into a wheelchair because of the tactics being used by certain clubs. Storm & Bronco's seem to be the teams that regularly use these tactics. This wasn't a tackle gone wrong, Chambers had two goes & snapping Eels players necks over the weekend.

Can’t have the Storm missing any key players for too long . Chamber’s record resembles Hoppas and he manages to sneak away with only 3 weeks . Laughable .
Wheres Ape , what’s your thoughts ? No favourtisim to see here ?
Rigged!
Growing balls and NRL seem somewhat ironic. But agreed they do need to.
Anyone suggesting that it's a level playing field is absolutely ridiculous...lots of 'outcomes' discussed in Gentlemens clubs and exclusive lounges.
Just the way it is.
If Chambers were playing for the Titans or Newcastle, he would have got minimum of 7 weeks - his record is atrocious.
i cant recall was it even penalised on field?
The Hayne one? Yes. The Brown one wasn't, though.
Disgusting and showed his true character. Imagine this bloke playing park footy with no cameras on him.
The NRL need to realise mums and dads watch this and when they see it only gets three weeks they assume it's common place and thus don't want their kids playing. The NRL needed to stand up and make an example of him. They failed our great game.

The video on the Fox article is a perfect summary of what this grub piece of filth did in the game. Is there any reason the club cannot request an explanation from the NRL as to why the first one was let go by the MRC?
