Chambers facing 3 weeks for Jarryd tackle.

I personally think 3 weeks is not enough. That was the worse tackle I have seen for a very long time. It was deliberate, it was intended to cause injury. I think he should have been referred straight to the judiciary and a minimum sentence to rule him out for the rest of the season.

  • Good he is a grub like Blair
  • 3 weeks early guilty, 5 weeks if he fights and loses.

I agree re: the 3... it should be more. The more you watch the replay the worse it looks - he already had Jarryd's head pinned against his chest while he was bear hugging him then he jumped up in the air and to the ground... like a WWE move. It screams nothing but deliberate intent to injure and the injury could have very easily been a busted neck.

The Storm are just utter filth and a blight on the game at all levels.

  • This was a terrible tackle; imagine if Hayne got a serious neck injury? Nothing surprises me; and Bellamy has been protected by media and NRL for yrs. When was the last time the media focussed on this? Those tackles should be min 5-6 wks; eradicating this from the game should be focused upon.

    • The way a lot of the Storm and Broncs tackle also noticed a bit with NQ in tonights game is that they have two players holding the tackled player up, and then turn him to effectively be facing his own end of the field than a 3rd player comes in and tackles the player in a downward motion, its a type of variation to the one by Chambers though.

While we lost the game, Storm possibly have lost more than what is seen on the scoreboard with the injuries they suffered.

  • Chambers is a grub, together with Munster. Smith are Slater are leaving their legacy at the Storm.

  • Agreed. Thst was worse then most bad head high tackles. In fact Junior got 9 weeks for a tackle no where near as bad as that a number of years ago. The NRL needs to grow some balls and put a stop to thesetactics by Melbourne and others right now.
    • That was for the ragdoll tackle on Matt Parcell v Manly from memory... Parcell got up straight away and was fine. It was one of those ones that looked far more dramatic than it actually was due to flying legs etc. Junior had some loading (what a stupid bloody system btw) so he got hit a bit harder but I don't think there was any fan in RL that agreed the 9 weeks was warranted.

Here we have grub Chambers risking breaking someones neck in a deliberate 'dropping crusher' and it's 3 weeks.

  • IT wasn’t even a tackle, he tried to intentionally hurt and injure him should have been wiped out for 7 weeks.

    • Bazaa, have a look st the grading if he didn’t get the 50% and 20% loading we would only miss one game for that tackle. I would like to hear from the players union on how they feel about players deliberately trying to hurt and possibly end other players careers.

  • Your right Brad should be more screamed obvious intent...seems storm haven’t learnt much from the past. Simply astounding that the ref didn’t feel the need to put that planned move to injure on report instantaneously ... what kind of message did that send to players and fans watching?

honestly the ref should be sacked for his inaction for that alone.

to me it looked like both of the players making tackle  knew what the deal was.

should be an instant send off for something as planned and deliberate as that...that’ll stamp it out.

was far worse that juniors 9weeker which was more spur of the moment.
