I thought he was signed until end 2016? Hope we're not paying half a wage for 2016 for someone not playing here... we do have just a few runs on the board in that regard!
He was second tier, so no issues in that regard. Second tier players don't count until they play NRL.
LOL geez our pommy signings have been a success and now there are rumours of a pommy half coming and maybe a pommy (Aussie born) coach as well?

Just look at this picture - I can understand why people said he didn't have the mass/ muscle for 1st grade.
I don't know if Ben would have gotten a shot had it not been for the second tier cap but I do know that the second tier cap means he probably looks ahead and figures he's got basically no hope of getting an NRL start.
When you know that no matter how well you perform that the NRL will not let you play, how is this a system that promotes talent and the opportunity for battling players to pursue their dreams.
You only have to look at Cody Nelson as a player who was kicking around NSW Cup and only for an extraordinary run of injuries was he ever going to have the chance to play NRL this year. Clubs really can't "give a guy a go" and see if they're up to NRL standard because it blows out their second tier cap.
This must change!

I wonder whether Gus Goulds fantastic idea of an under twenties comp will finally fade away though.
I can still remember him on the Roast saying we must have an under twenties comp. Great idea Gus!
